We’re looking for a seasoned web developer to join the Citizen Team to help us build world-class websites and applications for a variety of high-profile companies and organizations. You’ll work closely with our team of producers, information architects, account managers, designers, writers and creative directors to bring innovative digital ideas to life.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, creative thinker who can thrive in a small and rapidly growing environment. You believe in clean code, you are an early adapter to emerging web technologies and trends, and you are a master at what you do.
You have:
· A whole portfolio of expertly coded websites and web applications
· 5+ years as a hands-on web developer working in a variety of interactive and development environments
· A highly motivated and flexible work ethic needed to function in a fast-paced environment
· Deep technical experience working in the latest front-end technologies, and the ability to develop smart solutions to include support for legacy browsers/platforms
· Strong understanding of the web development process, including: requirements gathering, information architecture, application design, quality assurance and deployment
· The ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed
· A good natured heart, no attitude and you believe in our mission of doing well by doing good
Your technical expertise:
· Advanced in HTML / HTML5, CSS / CSS3, JavaScript, XML, AJAX
· Advanced knowledge in PHP
· Advanced knowledge of current JavaScript libraries (e.g. jQuery)
· Advanced knowledge of social platforms and APIs (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
· Advanced of development SEO best practices
· Advanced knowledge of working in LAMP
· Experience integrating front-end code with dynamic, database-backed web applications
· Experience integrating front-end templating with CMS systems like Expression Engine, WordPress, Drupal, Light CMS, or custom CMS platforms
· Comfortable setting up database schemas
· Subversion and GIT
Bonus skills:
· Development background in Java, Ruby on Rails, Grails, or .NET
· Development background in actionscript for rich media apps, ads, and sites
· Experience building custom CMS platforms
· Experience with e-marketing platforms such as Mail Chimp and Constant Contact
· Experience working with CRM donation platforms such as Blackbaud and Convio suite of products
· Experience building e-commerce platforms and/or working in existing e-commerce systems
· Experience with Mobile & Tablet Application Development for iOS and Android (sites and apps)
· Experience with gaming applications for web and for mobile
